Of Counsel

Matt Bloomer joined the firm in January 2023. He practices in Rutland, as well as the Firm’s Burlington office.

Matt is a highly experienced municipal attorney, having served as Rutland’s City Attorney for over six years prior to joining the firm. In that role, he provided general legal and policy advice to the Mayor, Board of Aldermen, city departments, and various city boards and commissions. Additionally, he was the lead negotiator in collective bargaining with the City’s four unions. Matt previously practiced corporate law at a large firm in Boston.

He is the fourth generation of his family to practice law in Rutland and serve the community as either a State senator or a member of the City’s Board of Aldermen. Matt served as an Aldermen and has been active in the Rutland community.  He was a founding member of the Rutland Young Professionals, spearheaded the City’s involvement in various marketing initiatives and was the varsity baseball coach at Rutland High School for several years.
