FEMA Assistance in responding to the Impacts of Hurricane Irene

As a public service, we are posting the following information about potentially available assistance to help your community deal with the impacts of Hurricane Irene.

“Public Assistance – FEMA will cover the cost to towns for repairing and restoring service to infrastructure. These funds are available to all Vermont counties except Grande Isle. Towns should be in touch with the Vermont Agency of Transportation for more information.

To determine your eligibility, property owners, businesses, and non-profits should contact FEMA as soon as possible at:

1-800-621-FEMA(3362) or 1-800-462-7585 (TTY) for the hearing and speech impaired. The toll-free telephone numbers will operate from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. (local time) seven days a week until further notice.
